Senate Bill 493 (SB493)
On April 23rd 2024, Governor Kemp signed SB493, which addresses the use of drones by registered sex offenders and modifies the requirements for sex offenders to petition for removal from the sex offender registry.
For Georgia offenders convicted after 07/01/2024:
5 years have elapsed since the offender has completed all aspects of their sentence (incarceration, community supervision, fines & fees)
and
The offender has been classified as a Level 1 by SORRB
For out-of-state offenders convicted after 07/01/2024 and who have moved to Georgia:
10 years have elapsed since the offender has completed all aspects of their sentence (incarceration, community supervision, fines & fees)
and
The offender has been classified as a Level 1 by SORRB
and
The offender has been removed from the sex offender registry in the state that placed them on the registry

2022 Holiday Season
SORRB appreciated the opportunity to contribute to Clark’s Christmas Kids for children in foster care.
